Wedding with wildfire in the back

A raging wildfire could have ruined these newlyweds’ big day. But instead, it made their wedding more memorable than ever.

As a wildfire ripped through a part of Oregon in the United States, Michael Wolber and April Hartley were preparing to tie the knot.

The Two Bulls wildfire near the town of Bend had grown to 6,000 acres and was threatening thousands of homes. But the couple’s big day was already planned.

The wedding party and guests were forced to evacuate, cutting short their wedding ceremony at the Rock Springs Ranch.

But before leaving, the couple snuck away with their wedding photographer, Josh Newton, to capture some incredible photos where the wildfire can be seen burning and smoking behind them.

Newton uploaded one photo to Facebook, and it has since gone viral with 92,591 ‘likes’ already.

Speaking to The Oregonian from the airport on his way to their honeymoon, Michael Wolber said, “It was like a movie. We saw a fire truck roll up with sirens blaring.”

He said that it ended up being “the most beautiful ceremony either of us could have ever imagined.”
