Imagine commuting home from a long day of work when all of a sudden you notice U2 is playing live at your train stop!

That was the reality for hundreds of New Yorkers as the super-star band performed at New York’s Grand Central Station in disguise as part of a gag for Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show.

Bono and the band began their shock concert wearing hippie costumes, donning wigs fake facial hair and dishevelled clothing.

Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. even replaced his drum kit with an upside down bucket.

Passer-by’s mistook the dishevelled looking foursome for ordinary buskers – how wrong they were!

Imagine their shock when one of the world’s biggest bands revealed themselves and conducted sing-a-longs of their hit tunes.

Jimmy Fallon was also in attendance and the segment, which will no doubt be incredible, is expected to air on his show this Friday!
