According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old Aussie star will play python Kaa.
She joins Christian Bale, who is set to voice Bagheera, a fearsome panther, in the adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s novel.
Others actors to star in the film include Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomie Harris and Tom Hollander.
The Warner Bros. production is set to hit cinemas in October 2016.
