As her best friend Naomi Watts prepares for the Sydney premiere of Diana, Nicole Kidman has started promoting her own princess movie.

The first trailer for Nicole’s upcoming film Grace of Monaco was released last night.

The one-minute teaser feature several brief glimpses of Nicole, 46, walking in her castle, driving in a luxury car and attending fabulous balls.

She wears a series of stunning outfits in the clips, including a white ball gown, a sky blue silk dress and a glittering silver number.

As opera music plays, the voice over says: “Long after the House of Grimaldi has fallen, the world is going to remember your name, your Highness.

“You are the fairy tale, the serenity to which we all aspire and peace will come when you embrace the roles you have been destined to play.

“For no matter where you are in years to come they will continue to whisper your name, the Princess Grace.”

Grace of Monaco is scheduled for release in December. Set in 1962, the film centres on the support Princess Grace offered her husband Prince Rainier during the famous dispute between France and Monaco over tax laws.

The film has already been criticised by the Monaco royal family who said it “needlessly glamorised” Grace.

Naomi’s princess film Diana has faced similar criticism, with Hasnat Khan, whose romance with Diana is portrayed in the film, saying it is based on “gossip” instead of the truth.
