Joan Rivers ‘on life support’ in hospital

Comedian Joan Rivers is reportedly on life support in a New York hospital, completely reliant on machines to keep her alive.

According to reports in TMZ, Rivers’ family will soon be faced with the decision of whether to keep her on life support but they remain hopeful that she will pull through on her own.

On Thursday, the comedian and presenter of the was placed in a medically induced coma after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest during a procedure on her vocal chords.

These latest reports come after previous news that Rivers was “resting comfortably” despite being originally listed in a critical condition.

In a statement released by Mount Sinai Hospital on Thursday, daughter Melissa River said: “Her condition remains serious, but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible.

“We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”
