It’s hard to believe that it was four years ago today that Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark welcomed their twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine into the world.

Australian born Mary, 42, gave birth to her two youngest children at Rigshopitalet, the Copenhagen University Hospital, in Copenhagen, Denmark on January 8 2011.

In celebration of the royal twin’s birthday the palace has released the cutest photos of Vincent and Josephine.

In one image you see the adorable Josephine wrapped up in a furry hoodie while on a boat, her eyes remarkably like her mother’s.

In another image you see Vincent confidently walking on deck in a black puffy vest, smiling animatedly for the camera.

While it is so far unknown how the little heirs will ring in their birthday, it is likely that it will be spent alongside their older siblings, Prince Christian, 9, and Princess Isabella, 7.

Prince Vincent was born 26 minutes before his sister, making him the fourth in line to the Danish throne, after his father, older brother Prince Christian and older sister, Princess Isabella.

Little Josephine might be the youngest she seems to have a lot of personality.
