Robin Wright shares intimate details of her relationship with beau Ben Foster and tells Vanity Fair she has “never been happier”.

In a recent interview with the glossy, the actress – who was married to movie star Sean Penn for 13-years – wasn’t shy about getting fairly personal with her answers.

“I’ve never been happier in my life than I am today,” Wright told the April issue of Vanity Fair. “Perhaps it’s not ladylike [to say], but I’ve never laughed more, read more, or come more than with Ben. He inspires me to be the best of myself. There’s so much to learn. It’s endless. How great! It took me a long time to grow up. Love is possible as life is possible.”

But the 48-year-old was a little more guarded when asked about the breakdown of nearly two decades of marriage to 54-year-old Penn.

“I’m not in the business of talking about what ‘isn’t,’?” she wrote in an email to the magazine’s interviewer when asked about her divorce from her dual Oscar-winning ex.

“My eyes are set forward and I’ve never been happier. I have too much respect for Sean and our two extraordinary children to sell our past joys and woes for public consumption and fodder.”

The actress, who currently plays steely Claire Underwood alongside Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood in the political TV drama House of Cards, has two children from her previous marriage to Penn – Dylan, 23, and Hopper Jack, 21.

While she was tight lipped on what sparked her 2010 divorce, Wright did say that her marriage provided her with valuable life lessons that she’s happy to take forward into her relationship with 34-year-old Foster.

“I believe we were together not only to have our beautiful children but to learn how to love…for the next time around, the right way. And then, what I’m looking for in people now,” she told the mag, “is kindness.”

Wright added that when it comes to her career she feels “as though (she’s) just graduated.”

“I mean, I never went to college. I was pregnant at 23. You hear people say how they have ‘arrived,’ but it was just always there, waiting to come out. For me, it just took a long time. I’m 48. I’m finally a person. I think I’m finally ready.”

While Robin is happy in her current relationship, it seems Sean is equally content with dating actress Charlize Theron. PEOPLE reports that the pair are so serious Theron’s three-year-old son Jackson calls Penn “Daddy”.

It may be naive but there are definitely some celebrity couples that just seem destined to get their romantic Hollywood ending.
