Enchanting designs cast a kaleidoscopic spell on fashion week

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week turned on the charm with the fourth day of fashion festivities with Kaleidescape, featuring a rainbow of Australia’s most enchanting designers.

Crowds watched in wonder as an eclectic cast of designers weaved their magic spell on a garden-inspired catwalk last night at Melbourne’s Town Hall. Designers Anna Thomas, Cohen et Sabine, Fleur Wood, Ginger & Smart, Gorman, and Mad Cortes bounced into spring with their ever-eclectic, always unpredictable, kaleidoscopic collections. Soft, floating fabrics and printed maxi dresses were signature trends of the evening while Anna Thomas’ bold nautical stripes also made an impact upon onlookers.

Kaleidescape was one of the nightly parades featured at Melbourne’s Town Hall for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week which runs unitl September 7. During the day, the city streets and laneways will buzzing with style as some of Melbourne’s best fashion labels and retailers launch their spring/summer collections in-store with a host of celebratory events.

As dusk falls on Melbourne — a city reknowned for its indivudal style and trend, the Official Evening Parades of MSFW showcase some of Australia’s hottest designers in slick and dramatic European inspired catwalk shows — it’s a must for those seeking inspiration for the spring/summer and for the Spring Racing Carnival.
