While William stayed home at Kensington Palace with George, Kate donned a black laser-cut Temperley cocktail dress and matching five-inch Jimmy Choos and sashayed down the red carpet at the SportsAid SportsBall.

Kate also showed off her new hair at the event, which appeared both shorter and darker in colour than it has in recent months.

SportsAid – which helps young sports stars achieve their full potential – is one of Kate’s favourite charities.

Kate was flying solo at the gala and seemed thrilled to be out on her own for an evening.
