Katrina Dawson, who was killed during the siege in Sydney’s Martin Place last week, has been farewelled Tuesday afternoon at a memorial service in the University of Sydney’s Great Hall.

The mother-of-three and successful lawyer was having coffee with a pregnant friend in the Lindt café when they were taken hostage.

She was fatally shot during the siege, which ended when police stormed the building 16 hours into the incident.

A private funeral was held for Ms Dawson on Monday.

Tears for Tori

Tori Johnson, the manager of the Lindt café who was killed during the siege, was farewelled at a separate service in Sydney earlier in the day.

Tori’s casket is carried into St Stephen’s Uniting Church.

Tori’s father father Ken and partner Thomas Zinn carried the white coffin into St Stephen’s Uniting Church n Macquarie Street, Sydney. The church is just meters away from the where the deadly siege took place.

The funeral is private, however NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione, federal minister Malcolm Turnbull, NSW Premier Mike Baird and NSW Governor David Hurley are in attendance.

Mr Johnson, 34, was killed after gunman Man Haron Monis took 17 people hostage in the Lindt Cafe in Sydney’s Martin Place last week.

Flowers removed from Martin Place

The services come on the same day that tens of thousands of flowers left at Martin Place in remembrance of the Sydney siege victims were cleared by nearly 100 volunteers.

While the exact number of flowers is unknown, it is being reported that there were nearly 100 bouquets per square metre, meaning that over 100,000 bouquets were probably left.
