Pastor bans women from wearing underwear in his church

A pastor in Kenya has told his female parishioners not to wear underwear to church, in the latest bizarre command from a church leader to a congregation.

Women should remove their bras and underwear before coming to church, says Reverand Njohi, so that Christ can freely enter their bodies and spirit.

The Kenyan Daily Post has reported that the minister at the Lord’s Propeller Redemption Church describes underwear as “ungodly.” However the view does not appear to apply to men’s underwear, as the rule only applies to women.

More than being a recommendation to his parishioners, the pastor has moved to ban female underwear altogether, calling together a meeting with church officials to discuss the proposal.

It is not the first crazy creed that a church minister has told his congregation.

The same minister has previously warned his female congregants against wearing turtlenecks.

In January, it was revealed that a South African pastor was making his parishioners eat grass in order to ‘be closer to God’.

Pastors at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria mandated a dress code that prohibited women from wearing gold trinkets, artificial hair, trousers or short skirts and also banned men and women from colouring or bleaching their hair.

In the US, a Texas pastor also told women not to wear hair extensions and it was reported that a Mississippi pastor banned fried chicken at church events. While this measure was motivated by an anti-obesity campaign, Dr. Michael Minor told local media “Fried chicken has mysterious powers” and it’s difficult for most people to eat just one piece.
