Rolf Harris found guilty of indecent assault

Veteran entertainer Rolf Harris has been found guilty of 12 indecent assault charges on four girls dating back almost half a century.

After eight days of deliberation, the jury came to a unanimous decision finding the 84-year-old

guilty of each count of indecent assault carried out over a period of 20 years from 1968 to 1986.

According to reports, the artist and musician appeared stoned faced as the verdict was delivered inside London’s Southwark Crown Court overnight.

Harris is now facing a maximum of 24 years behind bars, however will remain on bail pending a medical report before he is sentenced on Friday.

During the trial, which started on May 9, the court heard that the Australian born performer had performed oral sex and inappropriately touched his victims, including his daughter Bindi’s best friend.

Harris, who has spent the last 60 years living in the UK, is internationally renowned for his 1960’s hit Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport. As one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers, he also performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012.
