Australia’s most influential women attended The Australian Women’s Weekly Qantas 2014 Women of the Future luncheon today.

Hosted by Leigh Sales, the event was held at est. restaurant at Establishment in Sydney.

Among the guests were former QLD Premier, Anna Bligh; journalists, Leila McKinnon, Lisa Wilkinson, Georgie Gardner, Samantha Armytage and Natalie Barr; television personality, Kerri-Anne Kennerley; and designer, Carla Zampatti.

Former Governor-General Dame Quentin Bryce gave an impressive speech on domestic violence, while a panel of women, including Jane Halton, the secretary of the Department of Finance, and Anna Bligh, discussed the challenges women face today.

Referring to the The Weekly’s October Power Issue, which is on sale on Thursday, editor-in-chief, Helen McCabe said: “I like the idea of celebrating here today the Women of The Future whilst recognising in the magazine the women leaders of today.”
