The Palace announce Duchess Catherine’s unique Valentine’s Day plans

Blissfully married for six years, it looks like the Duchess will literally be soaring to new heights this Valentine's Day.
Duchess Catherine and Prince William

Kensington Palace released a statement about how the Duchess of Cambridge will be spending one of the most romantic days of the year.

The 35-year-old will be dropping by a RAF base in Cambridgeshire.

While her husband will appreciate the visit to the base, it will not actually involve the former pilot.

The Duchess will be introduced to air cadets from the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing Air Training Corps, who are taking part in a half-term skills development camp.

This will mark Catherine’s third visit to RAF since she became the Royal Patron and Honorary Air Commandant of the Air Cadet Organisation, taking over from Prince Philip’s 63 year patronage, where he served as as Air Commodore-in-Chief.

The RAF holds a dear place in the couple’s heart. Many will remember Kate famously joined William at his graduation, just months before they were engaged.

The couple will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary this April.

Kensington Palace shared a statement which read, “The week acts as an initial ‘camp experience’ for cadets who are in their first six months of membership.”

“Her Royal Highness will join the cadets as they view a Tutor aircraft, and participate in a personal development training session.”

We expect Prince George will be a little jealous of his mummy, who will also have the chance to fly a flight simulator during her visit.

We know someone who’d love to visit the airbase…

While V-Day may be allocated for duty, Wills and Kate will still have a date night very soon.

On Sunday, February 12, the couple will step out for glitzy night at this year’s British Academy Film Awards ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Duke, who is the president of the BAFTAs, will hand out the night’s biggest accolade, the Fellowship – an award that celebrates an individual’s outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, television or games.
