The curvaceous size 16 model, who fronts brands like Levi’s, Forever21 Plus, Target Plus, Kohls and Macy’s, told Shape magazine that she’s not comfortable with the “plus-size” tag that often precedes her.

“It’s so interesting — I see myself as normal,” Bidot said.

“You know, the average American woman is a size 14, and I’ve always been comfortable at a size 14.

“Girls today are so confident, and they know what they want. Hopefully, the industry continues to change.”

The Miami native’s comments reflect that of our very own Aussie super-stunner Robyn Lawley who has also spoken about her dislike for the term.

“I don’t think anyone should be called plus-size,” Lawley told Clique magazine in January. “I think it’s derogatory to anyone – it’s a label.”

The 25-year-old Ralph Lauren model, who has a size 14 frame and towers at 6ft 2, says that she finds the label especially offensive when in reference to her profession.

“I’m a model; I don’t think I need ‘plus size’ in front of it.”

In the fashion world – which seems to covet slender – there have been some models hitting the big time despite their size.

Curvy models on the catwalk aren’t all that rare. Canadian designer Mark Fast featured curvy beauties in his F/W 2011/2012 fashion show at London Fashion Week.
